Important documents should be able to show their work.
These descriptions explain the idea, not a promise that every document or reader implements every capability.
Universal Document
- A document that can explain where its important information came from, what changed, what is missing, and what happened to it.
Provenance
- Where did this come from?
Provenance product
- A way to show exactly what evidence supports an important claim.
UD provenance
- UD helps important claims show their receipts.
Verify
- Check whether the evidence still matches the exact document state.
UNKNOWN
- The available evidence does not support an answer.
Conflict
- Relevant sources disagree; neither is silently discarded.
Manifest
- An inventory used to check whether protected files changed.
Internal “friction wedge” means starting with one expensive, annoying problem instead of trying to solve everything at once. It is not a customer-facing product tier.
