A Contract Should Have a Life, Not Just a Filename
A contract moves through draft, negotiation, approval, signature, amendment and supersession. That lifecycle should remain explicit instead of being reconstructed from folder names.
UD model
UDR carries the changing state and its lineage. UDS preserves an exact final state. A later amendment derives a new UDR instead of rewriting the sealed record.
Fair incumbent boundary
SharePoint and other enterprise repositories can provide version history; CLM and e-signature platforms provide mature workflow and administration. UD is intended to make identity, lineage and verification travel with the document between systems.
